Zones 2-9Canada Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) is a native perennial plant that is found in much of Canada and the USA. It has beautiful golden-yellow, cascading clusters of small yellow flowers that appear in late summer into fall. Goldenrods spread by seed and rhizomes, so they can be aggressive spreaders. This plant prefers a soil with some clay and moist (but not wet) conditions in full sun. Bees and butterflies are attracted to the flowers so this is a great addition to pollinator patches! It has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties, and is used in herbal medicine for overall immune system support. Its leaves can be used as a tea, which tastes very similar to green tea.

Hot Pepper – Carolina Reaper – West Coast Seeds
$6.99Carolina Reaper is one of the hottest peppers on record at an alarming 1.5 million SHUs (it has peaked at 2.2 million). The small peppers mature from green to fire engine red and are gnarled and bumpy with a distinctive pointed tip called “the stinger. This species of pepper can be grown as a perennial in warmer climates (or heated greenhouses) or brought inside over winter. They are somewhat challenging to grow and will need protection to increase heat and lengthen the growing season in most regions. Please take extreme caution when handling the seeds and eventual fruits they produce.
Super-hot peppers can be somewhat challenging to grow. The seeds can be difficult to germinate, and they need a long, hot season to produce fruit. Start indoors early and use bottom heat and seedling domes to create the warm, humid conditions they need to germinate. Be patient as germination may take 21-28 days or longer, even under ideal conditions.

Thyme – English Thyme – West Coast Seeds

Wonderful in Mediterranean cuisine, teas, potpourri and a key ingredient of bouquet garni. Thyme dries well, too – cut sprigs and tie them with thread for hanging out of direct sunlight.
