This heirloom type from Greece yields prodigious quantities of thin-walled pickling peppers on compact, vigorous plants. Harvest the peppers when they are light green and 5-7.5cm (2-3”) long. Mild with just a tiny bit of heat. Less than 100 SHUs. If peppers are left to turn red, they do become even sweeter. The rich taste is like a sun-dried tomato with just a tiny hint of warmth. Pepperoncini is wonderful for eating fresh, chopped in salads, served with dips or breads, and of course, pickled. Can be grown in large containers Use rich, fertile soil with good drainage.
