This heirloom Japanese green is well known in culinary circles. Vigorous high yielding plants are loaded with broad, light green, deeply serrated leaves highlighted with distinctive white ribs. This variety is more heat tolerant than many greens and will resist bolting.

An early variety imported from Denmark. Heads are round ranging in size from 4 1/2 – 5 1/2 lbs. Sowing instructions: Plant seeds 0.5 inches deep indoors from February-March or directly outdoors from May-June. Transplant seedlings in May spacing plants 18-24 inches apart and rows 24-30 inches apart. Harvest in September. Maturity: 68-70 days
Large 900g heads, 20 cm across with good wrapper leaves. Holds well in the garden. Good for both early and late season crops. Mildew tolerant. Does best in sunny site with moist, rich soil.
Sow seed from mid April to late June and again, mid August.
