Organic Vegetable Seeds

Dating back to 1930s West Virginia, this classic heirloom beefsteak has pinkish skin, few seeds, and superb tomato flavour. Mortgage Lifter fruits are generally free from cracking and average 454g (1-2lbs) each. They mature a little later in the season, but the classic heirloom tomato flavour is worth the wait. Provide sturdy support for this climber that usually grows over 90cm (3′) tall.

The sweetest tasting of this series, Sunrise Bumble Bee has orange skin streaked with pink and gold for incredible visual appeal. They look amazing in salads, and have a very sweet flavour and succulent texture. All our Bumblebee series tomatoes are sold as organic seed. The Bumble Bee series will work in a 5-gallon (or larger) containers, but be sure to keep the vines well picked so they keep producing the crack resistant fruit right through late summer.

Super cute red cherry tomatoes with purple stripes. The sweet round fruits have excellent flavour and grow to a uniform 4cm (1.5″) across. They hang in long trusses from tall indeterminate vines. Try Purple Bumble Bee in a 5-gallon (or larger) container but be sure to provide the support of a trellis or string, as the vines are vigorous. Keep the plants picked and snip back any suckers so the fruit production is limited to one central vine.

Pink Bumble Bee Organic tomato seeds are CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Gorgeous pink cherry tomatoes streaked with yellow, hang in trusses on tall, productive plants. A Vietnamese-type bitter gourd, also known as balsam pear and bitter melon, Green Pearl is early to ripen its 22-30cm (9-12”) shiny green, warty fruit. Scrape the white seeds and pith out and chop into bite size pieces for use in soups and stir fries. Grow on a trellis for straight fruit

C. pepo. CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Honey Boat Organic delicata squash have longish, nearly cylindrical fruits with green bands over copper/tan skins. The flesh is deep, rich orange and very sweet. The plants grow into large bushes without much sprawl. The breeding on this variety dates back to Dr. Bagget at Oregon State University, and has been refined for several generations.

Save space in your garden and grow vertically with this unique vining zucchini. Ola Escaladora will grow up any fence or trellis so you can harvest without having to bend down. Dark green, 20-25cm (8-9″) fruit grows abundantly on long vines that spread up to 5m (16′).

C. maxima. Uchiki Red Kuri Organic squash seeds are CERTIFIED ORGANIC. This is a Japanese type Hubbard (red kuri), with dark, red/orange skin over tasty, cream coloured flesh. Popular in Japanese and Thai dishes, the flesh is flavourful and firm, and never stringy. Uchiki kuri squash plants are productive and robust in this climate. Sometimes known as “onion squash,” the fruits average 1.5kg (just over 3 lbs) each. This is a very early maturing squash. In our trials, May sown plants are finished by September 1st, with three or more fruits per plant.

Unique for its netted, pale orange skin, Winter Luxury is known for making the smoothest pumpkin pies. The high dry matter of the flesh is what sets these apart from other pie varieties. So pretty you can use them for displays. 2.25-3kg (5-7lb) fruit. Full vine plants.

A deep, dark green, almost black, jalapeño that has mild spicy flavour with a floral note. Black Magic’s medium sized plants are highly productive, yielding an impressive number of 7-9cm (3-3.5″), thick-walled fruits that feature some small scars on their skin called corking. If left unharvested, fruits will eventually mature to red. Approximately 2500 SHUs.

This organic Dutch heirloom is a multi-purpose pea. Purple Mist’s young pods can be enjoyed as snow peas, or the pods can be left to develop their unusual purple colour for mid-season shelling peas. Once the peas have fully matured inside the pod, they can be shelled and dried and used as soup peas all winter long. The 1.5-2m (5-6′) tall vines should be trellised and can be enjoyed as a striking ornamental, too. Purple Mist organic pea seeds are not enation resistant.

Matures in 80-85 days.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC. Slender, deep purple fruit with thin skin and mildly sweet flesh. The 15cm (6″) fruits have very few seeds and grow in clusters. Best harvested young when skins are glossy, the tender fruits cook quickly and are also suitable for pickling. This early and productive eggplant is adapted for year-round growing and is a good choice for container growing.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC! Described as the earliest and best white spine, heirloom cucumber ever offered, Early Fortune Organic is a fresh and clean tasting slicer is descended from seeds first bred in Michigan in 1906. The fruits grow 18-21cm (7-8”) long, and a consistent 5cm (2”) in diameter. The plants are richly productive for the home or market gardener. It also makes gorgeous pickles. The plants are productive in the greenhouse or polytunnel, but equally so growing in raised beds or the open field. Give the fruits a quick rub with a tea towel or similar cloth to remove spines at harvest time.

Nautic Organic Brussels sprout seeds are CERTIFIED ORGANIC! These are the best tasting sprouts we’ve tried in years! Succulent, tender, and useful as whole sprouts or separated leaves, Nautic was bred for high disease resistance, including a strong resistance to powdery mildew. Its buds are spaced slightly apart so the plants dry quicker after fall rain, reducing bud loss, and making it easier to harvest individual sprouts. Nautic is a great variety for the home garden or newbie sprout grower because of its simple and straightforward production. Plant in early summer, transplant in late summer, and harvest all fall and winter.

These seeds are coated with an inert, organically certified layer which helps to minimize clumping in storage and seed sowing machines. The coating is approved by organic certifiers in Canada, the US, EU, and Japan.

An Italian multi-cut broccoli that produces a small main head followed by an abundance of tender sideshoots. Cut Di Cicco’s 8-10cm (3-4″) blue-green, central head to induce the production of sideshoots and keep them cut to extend the harvest. Best for spring and fall production, the initial head will be looser than standard heading types and with more variation of floret size than other sprouting varieties. Excellent fresh, and a very good choice for freezing. Di Cicco can also be used for a fast microgreen. This is an old European heirloom that has been in cultivation since 1890.
