brightly coloured stems in various hues of yellow, crimson, gold, orange, violet, purple, green, and white contrast nicely with dark green, deeply crinkled leaves. Light tasting leaves are delicious cooked or in salads.
Sow seed 2.5cm deep in successive crops every 2 weeks from mid-spring to early summer. plants do best in a sunny site with well drained soil. Keep evenly watered for best growth.
Remove outer leaves first by cutting 2cm from the base, then working towards the centre. Harvest regularly for a continuous supply of tender new growth.
